How to setup custom domain name for your academy?

Setting up a custom domain for your worldclass online academy

One of the most frequent requests we get from customers is to set up their academy on their own domain so that users can go to (for example) academy.yourdomain.com <– instead of –>  your-academy.worldclass.io

Before we begin – consider using our widget instead!

If the widget won’t do and you HAVE to have a custom domain here’s how to achieve this:

First – make sure you have a working Worldclass Academy. You will need to activate an account with us and set up your content.

Step 1 – get a domain (skip this step if you already have one)

Choose a registrar, or use tools like or Domainr to find and buy a domain name that’s available. (This usually costs about $10-$40 per year.)

Step 2- create a new ‘CNAME’ on your domain

Use your domain registrar’s admin console to create a new DNS CName record.
The new record can be a sub-domain like academy.yourdomain.com or you can use the root domain to point to your academy (e.g. mydomain.com)

Step 3 – point your new CName record to worldclass

Refer the newly created DNS CName record to  the following IP value: prod-481902500.us-west-2.elb.amazonaws.com

Step 4- let us know

Email us and let us know about this change so we can configure your worldclass account accrodingly

Voila!
